Iesus, tanto nomini nullum par elogium!
Jesus, for so great a name, no praise is adequate!
The Reverend Dr. John WR Roddam was born and grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada. After graduating with honors from Pictou Academy, he attended Acadia University in Wolfville, NS where he earned a B.Sc., majoring in Chemistry. John's conversion came in 1978 and he immediately felt a call to ministry. After earning an M.Div. from Acadia Divinity College, John studied at SCUPE (Seminary Consortium for Urban Pastoral Education) in Chicago. He later received a Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA.
John served in 4 parishes in Nova Scotia (1983 to 1994) where he ministered in rural, town and urban settings. The Roddams moved to the West Coast in 1994 where John served at St. David’s, Tsawwassen in Greater Vancouver, BC (1994-2000). From 2000 to 2010, John and Holly served at St. Luke’s, Seattle, the Mother Church of the Charismatic Renewal Movement.
In 2011, John & Holly moved back to Maritime (Eastern) Canada. John began mentoring church leaders, church planters, and marketplace leaders. He also began convening regional meetings of leaders interested in Five-Fold Ministry. While in the Maritimes, John & Holly spoke at conferences, led retreats, and supported the founding of the Atlantic House of Prayer and the Halifax Healing Rooms.
Holly’s mother (Mary White) was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s about the time they returned to the East Coast and the Roddams moved in to care for her. Mary went into nursing care in early July 2016. After exploring a move to the West coast to be closer to their children and three granddaughters, the Roddam’s felt called to stay on the East Coast. John served as Rector of St. James Anglican Church, Kentville, Nova Scotia from November 2017 to November 2019. In December 2019, John retired from Anglican Parish Ministry. The Roddam’s then returned to the West Coast - Richmond, BC, part of Greater Vancouver - to be close to their family.
John has a passion for, and can quite often be found reading on, the history of Revival/Spiritual Awakening. A musican, he plays both piano and guitar. Holly (Nana Holly) and John (Papa John) are thrilled to be grandparents of four awesome young ladies!!
The Reverend Holly (White) Roddam comes from a musical family in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and has been in leadership in the church since she was 16. Together, with Holly's family, they gave Christian music concerts around the Maritime Provinces until their move to the West Coast in 1994. Holly has served mainly in worship and teaching. She has led worship teams for most of her married life, and has taught the Teacher's Training Course for the Bethel Bible Series in 3 of their 4 Canadian parishes.
